What Is Chatango?
Chatango is a free, awesome tool that can be used as a replacement of the webs shoutboxes. It is fantastic for roleplaying, out of character chats, or even just staying connected with all your roleplay budddies.
Roleplaying
To post, you must be logged in. Logging in to one box logs you in for good (pretty much). Meaning that no matter what box you go to on any site, anywhere, you will be logged in already.
You can view how many people are online (also good for using the chatango as your out of character chat).
You can press the sound icon so that your computer makes a sound when new posts are made there.
Always being logged in / having to log in means that the majority of trolls and those evil "anons" will usually avoid trolling your box, leaving your rp safe and clean.

Private Messaging
To get to your private chat, simply type in your username with .chatango.com on the end, or click on your own profile.
To start a private chat, click on a member's profile.
To find friends, simply type their chatango name into the Add a Friend above your friend's list on the right.
Like any chatango chat, the private messaging is updated in real time.
If a friend is online, the circle by their status will be green. No matter where they are, if there is a chatango box nearby, they are considered "online", even if they are on a site you never heard of.
Your computer will make a "bloop" sound every time someone types out a message (only if you are not viewing that specific page).
You can send offline messages which will be viewed by the offline friend next time they get on.

THINGS OTHER PEOPLE BROUGHT UP: CONS
I had members report weird PMs and being sexually harassed. There were kids on my site... older and younger then me. It's not safe even if you block them all.
MY RESPONSE:
I've had this happen to me on Skype, gmail, facebook, and tons of other places. Even real life. Point is: it's the internet. Their psychos and sickos everywhere thanks to anonymity taking away their reservations to hold back on what they say and who they go after.
Chatango used to be rather unresponsive in the past. It used to take forever for them to get off their butts and do anything. But now they seem to be better at customer service. So, here's a solution: If blocking doesn't work and you get attacked:
Change your picture, bio, and age.
If your picture is of a hot anime character (especially a girl), they think of hentai.
If your bio says you like/love roleplay, they think of sex roleplay.
If your age is listed as 14-29, they think you are looking for sex.
My picture is of a bleeding face. My bio is a rather dark line from a screamo song. My age says 99.
Never been harassed.
If the person is harassing you and blocking does not work, or if they just keep coming back at you with a new account to be a dickhead, then tell all your friends the username of the account that is harassing you and have ALL of them report this person SEVERAL times. Chatango will then ban the IP address, meaning this person cannot get at you from any account made on their electronic device.
Also putting in your bio: "DO NOT ASK ME FOR EROTICA/SEX ROLEPLAYS" seems to keep them away too.
